D'Backs' Hudson named NL Rookie of the Month

Hudson went 4-1 with a 1.85 earned-run average in six starts during the month. He led all National League rookies in wins and was first among all rookie pitchers in the majors with 43 2/3 innings pitched and 42 strikeouts.

On the season, he is 5-2 with a 3.03 ERA over nine starts. In 59 1/3 innings he has struck out 56 and limited batters to a .222 average.

Other rookies who received votes included Atlanta's Jason Heyward, Pittsburgh's Neil Walker and Daniel McCutchen, Chicago's Starlin Castro, Hudson's teammate Barry Enright, Los Angeles' Kenley Jansen, Houston's Chris Johnson and Washington's Ian Desmond.
